Utilizando el marco de los estudios oceánicos, este ensayo usa la epidemia del cólera de los 1880s in Chile y Perú para pensar y historizar circulación y desconexión. Leyendo dentro de la historia de la medicina y historia social, el artículo muestra como las autoridades chilenos y peruanos pensaron sobre el cólera, de ciertas partes de la población y como impedir el brote.
